History & Partnerships
The site says:
Ecrett Music (https://ecrettmusic.com/) appears to be owned or controlled by Soundraw. Searching for Ecrett Music in Pitchbook brings up the Soundraw company page, and the top of the Ecrett Music home page shows:
Their LinkedIn page is sparse and looks stale.
Ecrett Music shows up in many lists (see References) and seems to have a good reputation for what it produces. However, I have to wonder how long it will remain alive as a product in parallel to Soundraw.
Key Features
Ecrett Music is meant for background music for other content (games, videos, or podcasts). It is not intended for creating music tracks to be distributed on their own. Their “Do’s and Don’ts” say:
With Ecrett Music, tracks are created on their website (no mobile app). Users simply select a scene and a mood, then click a button to generate a track.
Users can then edit the track to change structure, length, and the instruments:
Training Data & Technologies
Music can only be downloaded on a PC.
No information is available on its training datasets.
Ownership, Pricing, and Usage Rights
The screen shots below stating that music is “royalty free for both personal and commercial projects” is from Ecrett Music’s FAQ.
Like many AI music companies, although Ecrett grants users royalty-free licenses, they hold the copyright. (Specifically, Soundraw holds it, according to their FAQ.)
Their individual plan is affordable compared to many ($4.99/month for annual plan).
