Excellent interview. Celeste touches on many important issues related to AI. The "nonconsensual" nature of our relationship to this technology also applies to other powerful technologies, from nuclear weapons to toxic social media to toxic chemicals. The AI race is on, and the risks, according to many insiders, are multiplying. If our worst fears about AGI are not realized, it seems inevitable that the very power-hungry AI industry will accelerate climate change. The future appears to belong to bunkered tech-bro oligarchs and their thinking machines. Until the machines get the upper hand... Our sci-fi future is here.
